To increase your child's speech and language skills it is very helpful to practice their target speech sounds and/or complete a variety of activities that are rich in language. Yes, you can always complete a worksheet but language can be found beyond a worksheet. Some activities that are rich in language include; outdoor activities, cooking together, making crafts, and reading. When the weather is beautiful take the time to enjoy the outdoors with your little one and make some memories. Something as simple as taking a walk and talking about the nature that surrounds you is a great way to expose your child to language. When baking a cake or making simple and safe dishes, have your child help along the way by allowing them to participate (remember no sharp objects for the kids). You can maybe find things around the house to make crafts, which is a great way to work on language skills as well as fine motor skills! READ, READ, READ!!! I can't stress reading enough. Make it fun!
